Message frequency varies, but you can expect to receive 2-3 text messages a week, in addition to any responses to your questions.
You can opt-out by texting STOP to the bot. To resume, you can text the bot START.
Common App is contacting you based on our existing relationship with you as an applicant for college on our system and this relationship is subject to Common App’s Privacy Policy . If you choose to interact with our trusted partner Mainstay (through their chatbot) and/or CAC (college advising), you will be, of course, subject to their privacy policy and terms of use.
Neither Common App, Mainstay and CAC will share or use your data outside the scope of delivering the services described herein. You can access Mainstay's privacy policy here and CAC’s privacy policy here .
There is no cost to enroll in this program. Common App, Mainstay and College Advising Corps are providing their support and expertise free of charge. Because you will be receiving this support via text message, standard text message rates do apply.
You can ask any questions about college. We’re here to help! A lot of the support and resources will focus on finishing any college applications, selecting a school that is the right fit for you, understanding financial aid offer letters, and how to pay for college. But please feel free to ask other questions about college that you might have!
Oli the chatbot will try to respond to any of your questions 24/7. If Oli doesn’t know the answer, they’ll flag your question for a trained college adviser from College Advising Corps. A CAC adviser will respond via text within 1 - 2 business days.
These will be planned as needed and you’ll be given information about how to participate via text!
